Madison Retailers Inc. opens its doors to the internet-savvy locals with its premium apparel brands, Van Heusen and Izod. By creating a website for these brands, MRI will be able to provide a venue for their customers to look at their latest collection as well as allowing them to process transactions from ordering, payment and delivery within a few clicks.

MRI affirms that the present day lifestyle of their market is largely influenced by emerging Internet technologies. MRI will be offering quality service to complement the activities of individuals who are highly dependent on the Internet for work and leisure.

Online retailing is no longer just an added service feature offered by retailers, but a necessity in capturing market share in this highly volatile, highly competitive industry. "Madison Retailers decided to launch vanheusen and izod so that its loyal customers can gain access to our community and share their thoughts and concerns," says Joanne Rivera, MRI Marketing Manager. The company also strives to have the best online retail store in the Philippines and create a large online social network devoted to its growth and to spread awareness about its advocacies," she added.

Philippine Garments Ambasador: Manny Pacuiao!!
July 02, 2011 (Philippines)
Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao, a Filipino professional boxer and currently member of the Philippines House of Representatives, has been roped in by the Philippines Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to canvass for the passage of the Save Our Industries Act (Save Act).
Popularly known as Manny Pacquiao, the boxing champion will be accompanying the Philippine trade attaché to the US for seeking support of US legislators for the passage of the important legislation.
Cristino L. Panlilio, Philippine Trade Undersecretary, said that the bill is expected to provide the much-required boost to the Philippine garment industry.
Lauding the tabling of the bill, Mr. Panlilio said that they have employed a lot of efforts since last year for pushing the Save Act.
He also informed that the Department of Foreign Affairs, led by Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario and Philippines’ new Ambassador to the US, Jose Cuisia Jr., have also avowed their support to the bill.
He said that though the tabling of the bill is a significant step, the job is yet not complete and they need to work hard to persuade more senators and congressmen to adopt the Save Act.
He also stated that the DTI has urged Filipinos to update all their relatives in the US regarding the proposed bill, so that they too can help in pushing the bill by writing to their respective congressmen and senators.
The Save Act, he further said, would benefit the US textile industry. It would also give boost to the Philippine garment exporters for further expanding their operations as they will get a chance to grow their overseas trade under preferential access to the US.
The bill pleads for inclusion of Philippines in the 809 program, under which the US gives several benefits to its trading partners who are involved in production and export of garments to the US, if these are prepared using yarn or fabric imported from the US.
